Yes! Photography is allowed in all cisterns without flash. The atmospheric lighting makes for stunning photos. Tripods are generally not permitted due to space constraints and visitor flow.

The Basilica Cistern has ramps and is generally accessible. However, Theodosius and Philoxenos cisterns have stairs and may be challenging for wheelchair users. We recommend contacting the venues in advance for specific accessibility information.

While it's possible to buy tickets at the entrance, we strongly recommend booking online in advance, especially during peak season (April-October). This allows you to skip the queue and guarantee entry at your preferred time.

Early morning (9:00-10:00 AM) or late afternoon (after 4:00 PM) are the best times to avoid crowds. Weekdays are generally less busy than weekends. The cisterns are cool year-round, making them a perfect refuge during hot summer days.
